A large medical device company recently took advantage of I Get It!

daily revenue reports for their sales team.
The IT department regularly downloaded a comma-delimited report of sales data
from the company’s ERP system. Problem was, this data was almost unusable in its
raw format. And yet, the data had to get out immediately to sales people in the
field. Before using Excel and Outlook VBA to automate the process, the in-house
team had to do it all by hand: copying and pasting hundreds of rows of raw data
into Excel, sorting it by salesperson, pasting the data to separate Excel
worksheets by sales person, and sending out separate emails to each sales
person. All this had to be done regularly and, toward the close of the month,
daily. It was a tedious process that took valuable hours away from more
important activities.
